Fighting the Signs of Aging

If you have sunken cheeks, sagging skin, deep wrinkles, collagen loss or just simply looking to age gracefully- then Sculptra may be for you! Collagen loss is one of the underlying causes of facial aging, and as we age collagen begins to breaks down, the skin starts to sag and wrinkles form. Sculptra is used to help the body replace lost collagen, restore facial volume and revitalize your appearance.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an FDA-Approved injectable treatment made up of Poly- L- Lactic acid. Sculptra is placed deep into the tissue where correction is needed the most, providing optimal volume correction and works with your body to stimulate its own collagen production to help fight the signs of aging.

We like to think of Sculptra as a “volumizer”, not a “detailing” filler. It is best for facial hollowing resulting from illness, genetics, and even weight loss. Sunken cheeks and temples are the most common areas treated with Sculptra, however many patients benefit from injecting Sculptra into the chin and jawline as well.

Sculptra vs Dermal Fillers

The choice between HA fillers and Sculptra often comes down to the amount of volume needed, the patient’s age, and correction desired. Most dermal fillers such as Restylanes, Juvederms, and Radiesse are typically placed in superficial lines and folds that give immediate correction, with results lasting 6 months to a year. Sculptra is placed deep in the tissue with gradual, natural-looking results that can last more than two years.

Sculptra Results

The results of Sculptra are long-lasting, with results lasting at least two years. Treatments should be performed in a series, with each session spaced six weeks apart. Depending on age, most patients will need between 2-4 treatments to meet desired goals.

Is there Downtime with Sculptra?

There is no “downtime” as it is an in-office treatment that does not take more than about an hour to perform. Patients can go back to their daily routine and activities. Like all injections, mild bruising may be expected.

If you’re experiencing a substantial loss in volume in your face or other fillers are just not giving you the results they once did, Sculptra may be the solution you are looking for. To find out if Sculptra is right for you, schedule a complimentary consultation today.
